STERLING – Vicki S. Alexander, age 80, died Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Shepherd Premier Senior Living in Sterling due to complications of dementia.
Vicki Sue Brown was born January 20, 1945 to Leonard & Dorothy (Peach) Brown in Princeton, IL. She grew up in Walnut, IL and attended Walnut Grade School and Walnut High School, graduating with the Class of 1963. She attended Midstate College of Commerce in Peoria, IL.
Vicki married Carl Von Holten at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. They are the parents of 2 children, Tara and Todd. She was a member of the Ohio First Lutheran Church for over 20 years, teaching Sunday School for many years.
She was a stay-at-home mom for several years and then began her career as a Secretary/Bookkeeper for V&C Construction in Walnut, and then other businesses in the cities of Sterling, Rock Falls, & Dixon.
Vicki later married Steven Alexander.
She is Survived by her daughter, Tara (Jeffrey) Wagenknecht and her son, Todd (Ann) Von Holten, all of Walnut, IL. 7 grandchildren, Bethany (Justin) Stabler, Brett Monson, Keaton Wagenknecht, Corinne (Triston) Claxton, Ed Freeman, Joseph Freeman, and Elizabeth Freeman. 6 great grandchildren, Oliver, Bennett, and Lainey Stabler, Eloise Gribble, Vivian and Emberly Freeman.
She was Preceded in death by her parents and her sister & brother-in-law, Marlo and Neil Sanders of Tiskilwa, IL.
There will be a private graveside service at a later date. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
