MILLER—Shelby “Jean” Miller, 88, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband and children.


Jean was born on October 16, 1936, in Louellen, Kentucky. She proudly served in the U.S. Army beginning November 23, 1954, where she worked as a dental specialist until marrying the love of her life, Walt Miller.


Jean’s quick wit and spiritual gift of service touched the lives of many. She was deeply cherished by her family, friends, and community, who were blessed by her warmth, kindness, and generosity throughout her life.


 She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Walt Miller; her children: Debbie Braden (Andy), Bruce Miller (Judy), link Miller (Carrie), and Julie Lastinger (Walley); her grandchildren: Rachel, Catlin, Shelby, Dent, Ethan, Greg, Jordan, Jay and Brooke; great-grandchildren: Emilia and Conan; and her brother-in-law, Raymond Miller.


Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Leveta Messer; her sister, Wanda Richmond; and her brother, Donald Messer.


Jean will be remembered with love and gratitude, and her legacy of compassion and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her.
