Ruth Ann Betancourt Obituary
Ruth Ann Betancourt, 66, of North Apollo, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Born July 19, 1958 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of E. Robert Berkey of Sardis, and the late Esther Ruth (Wich) Berkey.
Ruth Ann was a graduate of Franklin Regional High School, and while living in New Orleans, worked as meter reader. Locally, she managed the Garden Center at the former K-Mart locations in Hyde Park and Monroeville.
Ruth Ann loved gardening, working on jigsaw puzzles, going to car shows and the beach, and riding motorcycles.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Betancourt.
Besides her father, Ruth Ann is survived by her daughters, Kristen of West Virginia, Erin of Smyrna, DE; and her sister, Elinor Jane (John) Barry of Seaford, DE.
At the request of the family, all services are private, and entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Apollo. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, will be held at the convenience of the family.
