John Buren Kendall (93) passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1932, in Vardaman, MS to the late Milton & Willie Bingham Kendall. He attended and graduated Vardaman High School. In later years he moved to Baldwyn where he remained until moving back to Vardaman about 3 years ago.
John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwyn. He served in the Korean War. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting.
Services are Sunday, April 27, 2025 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with Danny Bishop, Ricky Ford and John David Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-3 pm Sunday in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
John is survived by his son, Gregory Sparks of Vicksburg; his daughters, Rhonda Moore of Dallas, TX, Sue Worline of Mineola and Emmala Henry of Chattanooga; his nieces & nephews who were his special caregivers, Don & Shirley Watson and Ken & Tammy Walters; his special friends, Mike & Sherry Hughes of Booneville, Mandy & Tyler Scott & family of Booneville and Amber & Daniel Williamson of Hattiesburg; a host of nieces and nephews; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Kendall; his sister, Wanda Caldwell and his brothers, Harold, Kenneth & David Kendall.
Pallbearers are Mike Lester, Mike Carpenter, Mike Hughes, Greg Sparks, Ken Walters and Don Watson.
Honorary pallbearers are all the athletes he watched, helped, coached and mentored through the years.
Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to NEMCC Athletics Department.
