Aaron Cleveland Knowles, Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 23, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born on March 22, 1954, in Norman, Oklahoma, Aaron was the son of Hugh “Bill” William Knowles, Sr. and Neva Jo (Spaulding) Knowles. On November 10, 1972, he married the love of his life, Debra Breedlove—his beloved “Honeybunch”—and together they shared 52 years of “wedded bliss”.
Aaron was a proud father and grandfather, deeply devoted to Aaron Jr. (Michelle) Knowles, and their children, Shelby (Ryan), Sydney, Kelsea, Aaron III “Tré”, Peyton and Deakon, Joy (Justin) Lewis, and their children, Christian, Maya and Noah, and Amber (Kevin) Nizza, and their children, Kayla (Jadyn), Tanner, Paige, Ethan, Grace, and Jackson. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren: Maverick, Laney, KJ, Koda, Kari, Evilyn, Aurora, and baby Morstad.
Aaron began his career as a machinist at the age of 18. In 1986, he and Debra founded Alpha Mfg., where he poured his heart and talents into his work until retiring in 2021. He took immense pride in his craftsmanship, and his creativity was evident in everything he touched—from precision machinery to the finely detailed leather goods he made by hand.
A man of many skills and a love for learning, Aaron could fix anything. He had a playful spirit, often amazing those around him with his yo-yo tricks, and he found peace in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and walking the land he loved in Meeker.
Aaron was a faithful member of Meek's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church for many years, where he dedicated himself to the Royal Rangers ministry. He took joy in mentoring young boys, teaching them survival skills, respect for nature, and, above all, what it means to be a man of God.
Aaron is survived by his loving wife Debra; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his sister, Eloise (Knowles) Barnes; his brothers Hugh Knowles (Sharon) and James “Jim” Knowles (Paula); and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh “Bill” and Neva Jo Knowles; his brother, John Knowles; and his great-granddaughters, Maci Vogt and Scarlet Nizza.
Aaron will be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering support. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
