Shirley Brown Obituary

Shirley Brown was born on November 10, 1928 in L’Anse, MI to John and Eleanor Bell. Shirley, who resided in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on April 23, 2025 at the age of 96.

After raising five children, she went back to school to become a registered nurse and worked at Harper Hospital until she retired in Florida, where she then worked at the Archdiocese Social Services. Later in life she learned to paint & write poetry. She loved to play bingo, cards or Farkle with family, friends and at senior centers. Family meant everything to her. She lived by the words: “once family, always family”. In-law, out-law, divorced – it didn’t matter, you were always family. She was happiest whenever she was surrounded by her family, whether it was vacations, holidays or just a visit. She was strong, beautiful, loving, a social butterfly, wanderer, and so much more.

Loving mother of Jim (Nicole) Brown, Debbie Brown, Bob (Ann) Brown, and daughter- in-law Debbie Ann (Roy) Pace. Dearest grandmother of Paula, Dawn (Mickey’s wife), Bobby, Derek (Lisa), Kenny (Stacey), Joshua (Rebecca), and Melanie. Loving great-grandmother of Tiffany (Abe), Anthony, Kirsten (Jared), Stephanie, Noah, Seth, Micah, Layla, Lilly, Drew, Elora, Hazel, and Clara. Beloved great great-grandmother to Bailey, Luca, Elijah, Isaiah, Kolin and Kinsley. Dearest friend & partner in crime for 68 years, Grace Trombley. Also survived by many other loving family and friends.
