Edward R. Kennedy, age 83, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at his home in Cadiz.

Born on August 11, 1941, in Trigg County, he was the son of the late Lewis Lander Kennedy and Arizona Camplin Kennedy.

A lifelong tobacco and cattle farmer, Edward had a great love for agriculture, conservation and being a good steward of the land. Edward enjoyed a good conversation among friends and new acquaintances, especially sharing the history of Trigg County. He enjoyed fishing, searching for native American artifacts and was an avid UK sports fan. Among all of those, his greatest joy came from being "Papaw" to his family.

Edward was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris Kennedy of Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Melissa Kennedy of Cadiz; granddaughters, Audra Baker Durham (Austin) and Arizona Kennedy; two great grandchildren, Abriella Durham and Alden Durham; and a sister, Priscilla June Kennedy of Cadiz.

Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2025, with the Reverend Ronnie Sivells and Reverend Steve Hardy officiating. Visitation will precede the service, from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Dyer-Brandon Cemetery, P'Pool Road in Trigg County.
