He is predeceased by his grandparents, a few aunts and uncles, and his beloved dogs, Conan & Max. Surviving are his parents, William & Elaine Hinton, 4 sisters, Lisa & husband Donn Garby, Melissa & husband Steve Mieloch, Mary & husband Ron Hurt and Michelle Hinton. Billy is also survived by 14 nephews and nieces, Joshua & wife Donna, Adam & wife Heidi, Donn & husband Brandon, Jessica, Kylee & partner Syd, Sophia, Jack, Bella, Andrew, and Charlotte; one grandniece Poppy, one grandnephew William, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition, Billy is survived by our precious Dover Pines (DP crew) family and his Holly Oaks family.
A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Billy was born in Neptune, NJ. His life journeys took him to residencies in Toms River, NJ, Florida, North Carolina, and finally returning to Toms River. A man of many talents, Bill was a self-employed plumber, boat mechanic, and HVAC mechanic. As soon as the warm days began, Billy would be up and out at 3:00 am heading out in his truck and boat to fish on his favorite lakes with his dog, along, or his die-hard fishing buddies until the season would turn too cold to fish. He enjoyed the peace and serenity of nature while fishing or scanning the skies and water for birds, waterfowl, and his favorite – raptors, especially the bald eagle. An avid Yankees and Cowboys fan, Bill also loved watching old cartoons, building models in the winter, and spending time with family teaching his nieces and nephews about fishing and birds.
We will always remember the genuine, protective, best at the breakdance move “the worm”, caring, warm hearted human being Billy is. Fly high with your beloved eagles Bill, you are at peace now.
A celebration of life will be held on July 5, 2025 – time and place TBD. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Ike Foundation at theikefoundation.org to help support children receive a chance to explore nature and outdoor activities, learn how to fish, receive their own fishing equipment, and learn about conservation and environmental protection.
