Born July 11, 1934, in Wapello County, Iowa, Harry was adopted and raised by Edward and Lydia Lenz in LuVerne, Iowa. He married his wife of 70 years, Donna Mae (Olson), November 30, 1954. He served in Japan in the U.S. Army, then began farming in Badger in 1967. While farming, he also worked 29 years for Webster County Road Department, operating the road grader. Harry and Donna were blessed with their children Martin, Rebecca, Bonnie, Katherine, Cynthia, Richard, and Diane. He was a member of the American Legion and the Polka Club of Iowa. He and Donna have been members of Badger Lutheran Church for 65 years.
Harry is survived by his wife, Donna, and children Marty; Becky (Rob) Higgs; Bonnie (Allan Shickman); Kathy Schwieger; Cindy (Randy) Scheuerman; Rich (Pam); Diane (Tom) Penningroth; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother- and father-in-law Rasmus and Beth Olson; sister Mildred; and son-in-law Bruce Schwieger.
Harry was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandpa. He took great pride in his family, his farm, and his work. He often went above and beyond to ensure that all tasks he undertook were done just right. He was reunited with his biological family when he was 27 years old, and quickly became a beloved part of the Rexroat family that included his surviving father and eight siblings. Later in life, he and Donna attended dances throughout the area, keeping young by doing the polka and two-step with many dancing friends. His faith in God and deep love for Donna were evident to all, who will miss him dearly.
