Elsa – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesus Rodriguez, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on April 23, 2025 at the age of 82.

Born to Alfonso Rodriguez and Teodora Gonzalez in San Bentio, Texas on December 29, 1942, Jesus Rodriguez would begin his life’s journey.

Jesus Rodriguez was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 45 years with Tri-City Steel, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and loyalty. His commitment to providing for his family was unmatched, and he took great pride in being a reliable and steady presence in the lives of those he loved.

When he wasn’t working, Jesus found joy in life’s simpler pleasures. He had a deep love for fishing, often finding peace and solace by the water with a rod in hand. Music filled his soul and his home, creating a warm and welcoming space for his children and grandchildren. He was a true family man—kind, generous, and always putting his loved ones first.

Jesus is survived by his children: Rosalinda Rodriguez (Jesse De Luna), Jesus Rodriguez Jr., grandchildren; Iesha Nicole Rodriguez, Veronica Marie Rodriguez, Alfonso Rodriguez Jr. Angelica Rodriguez, Jesus Rodriguez III, Daniella A. Rodriguez, great granddaughter; Leahnetti Rose Benedit and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Jesus is preceded in death by his parents Alfonso and Teodora Rodriguez, his Wife; Francisca V. Rodriguez, son’s; Juan Rodriguez, Alfonso Rodriguez, great granddaughter; Faithlynn Rae Rodriguez, brother; Alfredo Rodriguez and sister; Josefa Cruz and Evangelina Escamilla. Jesus will forever carry his strength, love, and wisdom in their hearts. His legacy as a provider, a protector, and a man of quiet integrity lives on in each of them.

 A memorial service to celebrate the life of Jesus Rodriguez will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Eternal Light Funeral Home, in Elsa, Texas with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Jesus Rodriguez will have his funeral mass on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Saint Joseph of the Worker Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to share their memories and to find solace in one another’s company as we remember his vibrant soul. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Eternal Light Funeral Home of Elsa, Texas.
