Frances (Fran) Lynn Hill Burroughs, age 62 of Knoxville, TN, passed away on April 23, 2025 from an eight-month valiant battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Born on September 7, 1962, Fran was a graduate of Carter High School and the University of Tennessee College of Business. Fran had a storied career with Magnavox, Sea Ray Boats, and Clayton Homes as an administrative assistant. Accepting Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, Fran was a devout Christian the remainder of her life and an active member of Fountain City United Methodist Church for the last 38 years. Fran loved her Church family and especially her Church Chancel Choir family.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Roy L. Hill and Doris E. Hill (Richardson).

She is survived by her husband of 38 years and best friend of 45 years, Keith Burroughs; their children, daughters Christina (Bradford) Jones and Caroline (Nick) Cross, and son Casey Burroughs, and six adored grandchildren to whom she was known as Frannie; Ellison, Archie and Nellie Jones, and Quinn, Cash and Calvin Cross. Fran is also survived by her sisters, Pam McClure and Leslie Hill; stepfather, Jerry Richardson; uncle, Dub (Maribel) Ellison; aunts, Ann Mowery, Karen Hill and Peggy Ellison; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dr. Wally and Sandy Burroughs, Bob and Marilyn (Chug) Burroughs, and Jane and Gary Hodge; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

The family wishes to offer special thanks to Dr. James Mosley, Dr. Jared Reed, and Nurse Olivia Smith with University Cancer Specialists, the Nurses in the Hanna Infusion Center at the UT Cancer Institute, and the wonderful caretakers at UT Hospital Hospice Services for the phenomenal treatment and compassionate care of Fran during her illness.

Fran’s celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the sanctuary of Fountain City United Methodist Church. Prior to her service, a receiving of friends and family will be held in the church gym from 3:30 PM – 5:45 PM. Following her service, the family will again visit with friends and family on the front lawn of the church.
