Shawn Encalado, Sr., 47, of Millbury, OH passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Blanchard Valley Hospital on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Shawn was born on July 10, 1977 to Paul Jr. and Deborah (Kuhnle) Jovanovic in Toledo, OH.

A proud graduate of Start High School’s Class of 1995, he later attended culinary school where he honed his passion for cooking—especially known for grilling up unforgettable burgers. Though he could not stand eggs, he lovingly made his wife omelets every weekend. He married the love of his life, Nichole Tillman on August 17, 2024, and it was with her that he discovered a love for camping. In February 2014, he transitioned from the culinary world to the Jeep production line, where he worked on Wranglers and Gladiators with pride. A devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, New York Rangers, Duke basketball, and Ohio State football, he also enjoyed golfing, bowling with his brothers, and playing softball on several co-ed UAW league teams. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and dog dad to his beloved pup, Zucc.

Left to forever cherish his memory is his loving wife, Nichole Encalado; children, Shawn Jr., Analesia, Jazmyne, Rylan, and Mariana Encalado; mother, Debbie (TomTucker) Jovanovic; siblings, Felipe (Abby) Encalado, Casey (Tanya) Encalado, Mia (Josh) Holley, Allen (Katie) Encalado, Paul Jovanovic III, and Danielle Neill; aunts, Donna (TJ Coleman) Harriot and Robin (Gary) Heinemann; mother-in-law, Cindy Kline; many, many nieces and nephews; 1 great-nephew; and many cousins.

Shawn was preceded in death by his dad, Paul Jovanovic, Jr., and grandparents, Patricia and Allen Kuhnle.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services officiated by close family friend, Nick Alonzo, at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his daughter, Mariana Encalado, in care of Nichole Encalado.
