James D. Jervis Obituary

James D. Jervis, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 after a long and hard-fought battle with dementia.

James was born on June 29, 1964, in Orrville, OH to Wallace and Barbara (Decker) Jervis. He had worked for Luke Engineering Company out of Wadsworth for over 25 years before retiring from his position as factory foreman. James loved listening to country music, being outside, and taking his truck out on drives. He will be remembered for his love for making those around him laugh and for living his life to the fullest.

James is survived by his daughter and her husband, Brandi and Craig Nichols of Creston; son and longtime girlfriend, Jimmy Jervis and Mila Moore of Creston; grandchildren, Emily, Alexander, James, Dyson, Gabriel, and Dakota; sisters, Debbie (Randy) Copley and Tracey (Doug) Miller; brother, Tim Jervis; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Christine Wood and Laurie McCune, and his brother Brian Jervis.

Services will be Monday, April 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Josh Chaffin officiating. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Harmony Hospice Care, 25825 Science Park Dr, Beachwood, OH 44122.
