Mr. Robert Vance Fleming, age 88, husband of Susie Canter Fleming of 135 Hickory Dr., Conway, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.

            Mr. Fleming was born in Union, August 20, 1936, a son of the late Gilbert Shea Fleming and Eva Genieva Farley Fleming Todd. He retired from John J. Kirlin Engineering Firm in Raleigh NC. He was a veteran of the US Army having served with the 82nd Airborne Division and was a Shriner. Mr. Fleming was an avid bicyclist and runner who also enjoyed sailing his own boat and dancing with his wife.

            Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Rhonda Evans and husband Roger of Traveler Rest; two step-daughters, Tammi Pesek and husband Martin of Switzerland, and Andrea Frith of Conway; and a step-son, Craig Frith and wife Jill of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren, Chad Evans, Travis Evans and wife Kristi, Michelle Deckard, Michael Evans and wife Theresa, Meloney Brazzola, Harrison Frith and Grant Frith; eleven great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amanda Kemp and nine brothers and sisters.

            Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Scott. Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery.

            Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at the chapel prior to the services.

            Active pallbearers will be Chad Evans, Travis Evans, Michael Evans, Cameron Evans, Hampton Evans and Craig Frith.
