Sumter, SC…. Eugene Francis Boing, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Eugene was born in Batesville, Indiana, son of the late John F. Boing and Billya Lynn Riley. He served in the United States Air Force and retired at Shaw AFB in 1987, as a TSgt after over 20 years of service. He found his home in Sumter where he enjoyed his family and friends. Eugene was known for his outgoing personality and his ability to talk to anyone. He enjoyed racing and sports, particularly the Cincinnati Reds and the Cincinnati Bengals, and he loved to listen to Ozzy Osborne. Eugene will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whose greatest pleasure was taking care of his family and enjoying life with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Eugene is survived by his sons; Chistopher Eugene Boing of Staten Island, NY, Eric John Boing and his wife Tiffany Shirer Boing of Manning, a daughter; Michele Lynn Hinson of Sumter, three grandchildren; Eric Christopher Thomas Boing, Casey Hinson, and Justin Hinson, and his former spouse, Editha Furst.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Dells.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Woods officiating.  Interment will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with full military honors.

A visitation will be held one hour prior to service on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
