Phyllis Mae Hope Obituary

Phyllis Mae Hope

Nov 29, 1953 – April 23, 2025

With much sadness our family shares the passing of Phyllis Mae Hope: mother, daughter, sister, and beloved friend. Phyllis’ heart was smitten with the joy of her family: daughter Sandra Condon (Mark), her grandchildren Madison and Paige, and her son Kendall Hope. Phyllis had a wonderful sense of humour, sharp wit, and generous heart. A phenomenal cook, she loved to entertain her friends, carefully planning meals from recipes she passionately collected. She chose to lead her life, both personally and professionally, with uncompromised integrity.

She graduated from Moncton High School 1971, the Moncton School of Nursing 1974, Bachelor of Science from Université de Moncton in 1985 and her Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University 1993. Phyllis began her career at the Moncton Hospital as a nurse in psychiatry prior to embarking on a second career with the Moncton Hospital in Human Resources where she retired as Director. She was very active with her nursing alumni peers and treasured the many dear friendships she enjoyed throughout her years in Moncton.

As well as her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her mother, Mae Chapman; brother, Bruce Chapman; sister, Jackie Chapman-Brown (Lloyd); sister-in-law, Sharon Harris (Myra), a niece, and several nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her partner Ron Harris (2005), and father Ron Chapman (1999).

A reception for friends to gather in honour of Phyllis will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 80 Mount Pleasant Rd from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. (Please note street parking ONLY.)
