Cynthia Lu Stanley Obituary

Cynthia Lu Stanley was born on July 27, 1959, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and passed away on April 23, 2025. She was the fifth child of the late Lavon and Rose Kathryn Stanley of Atkins, Arkansas.

Cindy had great love for her family, and her dearest friend, Mary Fern Combs of Russellville, Arkansas. She overcame many challenges throughout her life. She was known for her great love of animals, books, and music. She could often be found down by the creek “critter” hunting. She enjoyed playing cards, and bingo, among other games. She completed many jigsaw puzzles over her lifetime! She was a member of the 5th and Greenwich Church of Christ. She loved studying her bible and attending services as she was able.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Leonard and Clara Stanley of Atkins and Seab and Lena Phillips of Atkins.

She is survived by four siblings, Brenda Stanley, Phil Stanley, Jo Barton, and Jim Stanley, by seven nieces and nephews, Liz Shahan (Rob), Dylan Stanley, Samantha Barton (Kevin), Jacob Stanley (Jennifer), Ashley Stanley-Stevenson (Sean), Tobias Wray, and Jessica Curley, as well as fifteen grandnieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Lemley Chapel on Sunday, April, 27, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Graveside service and burial will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, April 28, at Oakland Cemetery with Chaplin Don Irwin officiating under the direction of Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.
