Carl "Rocky" Backus, 74, of Hillsboro, Missouri, passed away April 23, 2025 in Festus, MO.
He was born October 12, 1950 in Saint Louis, MO, son of the late Carl August Backus and Eleanor Jean Backus (Roeder).
Rocky worked as a Local 6 Beer Brewer for Anheuser-Busch and in his free time he enjoyed building hot rods and working in the yard.
Rocky is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Ellen Celeste Backus (Davis) of Hillsboro, MO, sister, Sherrill (Ron) Placial of St. Louis, MO, father-in-law, Chester (Bonny) Davis of Grass Valley, CA, brother-in-law, Mathew Davis of St. Louis, MO, sister-in-laws, Eve (Jimmy) Fletcher of Hillsboro, MO, Elaine (Jim) McDonald of Leesburg, FL, and Kathleen (Greg) Lee of Festus, MO, nieces, Emma Lee, Anna Lee, Ruth Lee, and Molly McDonald, nephews, Nick Fletcher and Zach Fletcher, other family members and beloved friends.
Along with his parents, Rocky is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sue Davis.
