On April 23, 2025 the Mothership called Steven Lee Tittle home. Since his birth April 7th, 1956, to Joan and Robert (Bob) Tittle, now deceased, Steve was a… handful. He started playing guitar at age 6, and went on to learn bass guitar, at which he excelled.
Steve enjoyed his misspent youth climbing trees, swinging on poison ivy vines into lakes, and being the golden child above his two siblings (Bonnie Schuette and Scott Tittle). Steve honed his skills as a horticulturist in the family business while expanding his repertoire as a bass guitarist. He had the pleasure and honor of playing with many highly esteemed musician friends in several bands over his life.
In 1990, Steve met the love of his life, Chris. He fell in love not only with her, but her three intelligent, beautiful daughters Kimberly (Chad) Poe, Michelle (Steve) Rose, and Nicole Huggett (TJ Weinell). On March 27, 1992, he and Chris were married and vowed to love each other forever and ever and 10 days. Steve became a Master Electrician and owned and ran his own business, Tittle Electric, for nearly 20 years.
When Steve was not busy being sarcastic, he had an annoyingly long list of hobbies and interests, including cooking, gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and watching his favorite sports—the Red Wings, The Lions, The Wolverines, and Nascar. He was also a gruff but loving grandfather to Christopher Poe, Kyrsten (Brannon) Fletcher, Kaytlyn Rose, William Rose, and Salem Weinell, and his great-granddaughter Anastasia Rose.
Aside from those mentioned, Steve is survived by the nieces and nephews he lovingly tortured: Nicholas (Anna) Schuette, Courtney aka Corky Schuette, Jay Tittle, and Sasha Tittle. He is also survived by many dear cousins and friends. Aside from his parents, Steve is preceded in death by a great niece, Freya Tittle.
A celebration of life is being planned for the summer, with further details to come. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society would be welcome: https://www.greaterhillsdalehumanesociety.org/donate. Above all, Steve deeply loved all of his family and friends and would want us all to play on.
