When he was growing up living in Nashoba he loved to go into Antlers on Saturdays and get some ice cream. He loved playing ball, swimming and hanging out with family and friends. He also loved to ride around in his uncle Skeet's school bus. They would take all the other kids home then him and uncle Skeet would have a treat. As Kenneth grew up and described his teen years he would say he didn't have too many girlfriends. Kenneth joined the Army when he was nineteen on August 10, 1966. He stayed stateside in Washington State during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on August 9, 1968. After serving in the military he worked as a shop foreman for years at a Ford dealership. He then worked for D.H.S. for many years until his retirement. Kenneth and his wife went to EMT school and worked as a team for many years at the hospital. He married the love of his life Joan Kay Blankenship, wife of 48 years, and together they have traveled 44 states together. They had a lot of fun when they were younger and used to love to go camping together. Kenneth was raised in the Assembly of God and later joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Kenneth loved his family and church family most of all, and his dog Marley was his pride and joy. He taught their kids about every Ball Player on every team. He loved to go watch the Dallas Cowboys, OKC Thunder and also the OU Sooners. His grandkids filled his life. Some other things that he enjoyed was country music, all Christian Books, Western movies, Fox News, gardening, and working out on his farm and tend to his cows. He also loved old cars, and he collected several of them. Over the years, due to his illness, he has not got to enjoy the things that he loved most.
