Samuel G. Sinclair, Sr. Obituary

NORTHBOROUGH

Samuel G. Sinclair, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Carol A. (Welch) Sinclair; three children Kathy Cleland, Samuel Sinclair, Jr., both who reside in Northborough, and LynnMarie Lange and her husband Jeff who reside in Rutland; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Samuel is also survived by a brother, Ronald Sinclair and four sisters, Paula Fiske, Janet Annis, Phyllis Letendre and Marilyn Banks.

Samuel was born in Marlborough, one of 13 children to Horace B. and Mabel (McKissick) Sinclair. He was proud of his heritage and of his home on Hudson Street– which he resided in all of his life. After completing his education at Northborough High School, Samuel served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return home, he began his career as an over-the-road truck driver. Throughout his time behind the wheel, Samuel delivered products for Laurence Candle, Read & Company, Home Quarters, Inc. and General Electric Co.

As an outdoor enthusiast, Samuel enjoyed camping and RVing, freshwater fishing, whitetail deer hunting and enjoying the quiet solace of nature after a long day on the road. He was an avid Red Sox fan and appreciated animals of all kinds. Often Samuel could be found rototilling a neighbor’s garden, snowplowing their driveway or offering a hand in some way. On many occasions, Samuel would see to it that someone who was in need of a meal or warm bed would find it there, at his own family homestead. His quick-witted way of sharing a joke or playing a prank will be missed.

Calling hours will be held between 5-7 p.m. on Monday, April 28, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A graveside funeral will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, April 29, in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
