Joseph E. "Bucky" Weaver Obituary

Joseph E. "Bucky" Weaver, 86, of Susquehanna Township, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at home. He was born on May 1, 1932 in Susquehanna Township to the late Joseph Weaver and Grace (Etzweiler) Weaver. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas A. Weaver, his 2 sisters Elaine Leach and Marian Eckenrode. Mr. Weaver was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War Era, Japanese Occupation Veteran of 70th Tank Battalion and First Cavalry Division. He was retired from the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk. He was a member of the former Progress-Immanuel Presbyterian Church and the Susquehanna Township Baseball Association. Joe was a coach for over 60 years in Susquehanna Township, having coached football, basketball and baseball. He greatly enjoyed being a coach, Joe loved "his kids" as he referred to them. Surviving are his wife Dorothy H. Weaver, a son Dale J. Weaver and his wife Mari of San Antonio, Texas, and a grandson Thomas J. Weaver. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 in the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton Township. A visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Thursday in the funeral home.
