BETTY LAVERNE “MICKIE” BAKER Memorial services for Cortez resident Betty LaVerne “Mickie” Baker will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 8 at Arriola Bible Church. Mickie was born June 24, 1935 in Cortez the daughter of Floyd Dewitt and Mary Melvina (Stevenson) Cummings. She passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. Surviving Mickie are her children, Loretta Baker of Craine, Mo., Tim L. Baker of Canyon, Tex., and Kelly D. Baker of Grand Junction, Colo.; and by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mickie was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Billie Joe Baker; and her siblings, Alberta Simmons, Ben Cummings, and Helen Martin.
