Janet L. Baumgartner (Nee Lueke) Age 77, of Germantown, passed away peacefully Friday, March 1, 2019 at AngelsGrace Hospice in Oconomowoc, with her husband by her side. Janet was born on May 17, 1941 in Shawano, Wisconsin to Karl and Lyndia (nee Schoenick) Lueke. After moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for nursing school, she met and married Richard Baumgartner, the love of her life, on March 18, 1967. Janet is survived by her devoted husband, Richard, daughter Sara (Ken) Ciak, grandchildren Emma and Alex Ciak, Green Bay, WI, siblings Sally Engel, Murfreesboro, TN, Charles (Mary) Lueke, Menasha, WI and sister-in-law Diane (Tom) Davis, Mount Pleasant, WI, as well as several nieces, nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Lydia, her beloved son, David (December 24, 2007) and brother-in-law, Glen Engel. Janet loved being a nurse and working with the elderly, and as the school nurse at St. Jude the Apostle in Wauwatosa, where her children attended. Janet loved to read, solve crossword puzzles, plant flowers, travel to tropical destinations, play cards with her friends, and spend time with her cats. She was known for her cooking, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. She also loved music and played the piano beautifully. Janet’s greatest love was her family, and she provided them a wonderful example of strength, faith, and dignity. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Visitation at ST. ANTHONY CATHOLIC CHURCH, N74 W13604 Appleton Ave., Menomonee Falls on Tuesday, March 19 from 9:30 - 11:45 AM. Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM. Entombment at St. Mary Cemetery in Menomonee Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Washington County Humane Society or a charity of choice are appreciated.
