Gerald Bernard Yates, 61, died March 1, 2019. Gerald Bernard Yates was born July 15, 1957 in Memphis, TN to Sidney and Ernestine Yates. He accepted Christ at a tender age and was baptized at Greater Mt. Zion MB Church by the late Pastor E.V. McGhee. He was called home on March 1, 2019. Gerald was always the life of the party. He prided himself in always being there to lend a helping hand when needed for his family and friends. Gerald was the most loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, an automotive mastermind, and a highly skilled craftsman. He was truly a jack of all trades. Most importantly, he loved his family more than words could express. Gerald is preceded in death by his sisters, Marcia Deloris Yates and Ernestine Loretta Davis-Matthews. Gerald leaves to cherish his memories, his parents; three sisters, Deborah (Floyd) Elder, Velvetta (Jasper) Clay, and Kemetria Yates; his four daughters, Tammikia (Marlon) Yates-Matthews, Nekka (Rodrick) Yates-Mason, Erica Yates, and Melody Yates; his three sons, Corey (Kasey) Yates, Cedric (Jacquetta) Bonds-Yates, and Aerion Yates; two nieces, Meredith Elder and Courtney Coleman; four nephews, Guy (Tammy) Matthews, Byron (Nakia) Matthews, Jeremy Clay, and Jordan Clay; fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
