Verna Jean Hodges Temple Well, the time has come to say goodbye, to Verna Jean " Miss Duke " Hodges Temple. She left us on February 28, 2019 to fly with the Angels in Heaven. Verna was born on October 28, 1949 to Benjamin Eugene Hodges and Ruby Elese Grisham Hodges in Conroe, Texas. On July 19,1969 she married the love of her life Michael Lee Temple, making her a young military wife. Verna loved life to the fullest, especially being with Mike and their animals. She would always greet you with a hug and a smile and a kiss on your forehead. Some of her favorite days were in front of a good puzzle or drawing with some of her " kids ". We remember her crazy dancing with songs Benny Frank would download on a CD to take home, after a visit with him and Roberta. She spent many days with her special friends the McGough's, Marzee, Caleb, Courtney, Hope, and the grandkids. She is survived by husband Michael Lee Temple U.S. Army veteran.Sister Linda K. Harvell her children Pepper, Pat Harvell & Pam Harvell Franklin. Brother and sister in law: Benny Frank & Roberta Hodges their children Rachel & Kenneth Simons, Rebecca & David Westhoff, Benny Frank Hodges Jr. "Scooter" U.S. Navy & Vanessa Hodges. Sister in law and husband: Teresa & Sid Chambers & their children Brandy Chambers, Sonya & Marty Foss, Matthew Chambers. Sister in law: Nancy Temple Moore & her children Kelly Moore & Dawana Dooley, Holly & Brian Mathieson, Aaron & Michelle Moore. Nephews: Michael & David Temple. Great Nieces & Nephews: Dustin & Dylan, Lily, Leyla & Aryia, Alyssa, Averie, Adeline,& Margaret, Zach, Ashley & Taylor, Justin, Jeremy & Jacob & also Laila.Cousin: Corkey Pittman. Preceded in death are her parents: B. "Gene" Hodges, Ruby Elese Grisham Hodges. Mother and Father in law: Henry "Buster" Temple, Margaret Hanna Temple. Grand Parents: Jack and Arra Grisham, R.W.and Della Hodges,Papa and Granny Temple Pappy and Edna Hanna. Brother in laws:Randy D. Temple, Pepper Harvell, and Great Nephew: Michael A. Chambers. Memorial Service is planned for May 11, 2019 at the Tall Timber Subdivision Club House. (Verna served as a lifeguard there during her teens.) RIP to our beautiful Verna, you were a blessing and will be truly missed by all, but we have comfort in knowing you are in the arms of our Lord, and smelling the roses, while holding your little Itty Bitty that has missed you so much.Obituary
