It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Diana Herron Ramsdell, 77, of Enfield, CT wife of the late Alan E. Ramsdell. Diana passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Baystate Medical Center. She was born August 21, 1941, in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Groves) Herron. Diana was raised and grew up in the Scitico section of Enfield. Diana was the church organist for the former St. Mary's Church in Hazardville. She was employed with CBT as a teller, then worked at the Hartford Jai-Alai (a job she loved), and later retired from the United States Post Office after several years of service. Diana loved the simple things in life, her dog and faithful companion Lacey, family, friends, and Elvis Presley. A lifelong fan of Elvis, she visited Graceland over nine times with her BFF Becky. Diana had a heart of gold and constantly did for others without ever looking for anything in return. She was a devoted friend to many and loved ebaying, tag saling and took great pride in her beautiful gardens. Diana is survived by her seven children, Kim, John, Corinne, Ken, Laura, Andy, and Lynn; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Herron; her sister, Patty Coffey; her lifelong friend Becky Robbins and her family; several nieces and nephews; and her wonderful friends and neighbors. Diana was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Ramsdell; two grandsons, Ryan Andrews and Zachary Ramsdell; a great-grandson, Kaydence Ramsdell and a sister, Jane DeGruttola. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 4-7pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Funeral service for Diana will be celebrated on Friday, March 8, 2019, at 10 am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 383 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Please meet at the church. Burial will follow in Somers Center Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Diana's memory may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell St. , Newington, CT 06111.
