Fuquay-Varina – Peggy Tutor Dickens, age 77, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Duncan Baptist Church, 12024 Hwy 42 West, Holly Springs, NC. Burial will follow in church cemetery. Family will be receiving friends on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel, 401 North Ennis Street Fuquay-Varina, NC. Peggy spent 12 years at WAKS, the Country music radio station in Fuquay-Varina.  She also was the owner and operator of the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Fuquay for 25 years.    She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William Dickens, brothers Winfred Tutor, P.G. Tutor and sister Bernell Sox.Family will be receiving visitors at the home on 6309 Burt Rd.  Fuquay-Varina.   Peggy is survived by her son, W. Lane Dickens and wife, Teresa of Wendell; daughter, Stephanie D. Parker and husband, Kendall of Four Oaks; grandsons, Jonathan Dickens of Asheville, Matthew Dickens of Lenoir and Brandon Parker and wife, Lauren of Four Oaks; sisters, Rozelle Stephenson of Holly Springs and Patsy O’Connell of Fuquay-Varina; brother, Michael Tutor and wife, Wanda of Lake Gaston; sister and brother in law, Mary Ree and Tracy McLaurin of Fuquay-Varina; sister in law; Jean Tutor of Holly Springs; significant other, Mike Jones of Fuquay-Varina.
