Roger Gene Counts, 68, of Kenna passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at Oak Ridge Center, Charleston following a short illness. He was born June 15, 1950 in Jackson County, WV a son of the late Frederick Gene and Macel Marie Koon. Roger was a coal miner by trade who loved to hunt, fish, and go camping. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucille Haynes Counts; daughters Terri Payne (Joseph) of Kenna and Tina Brunty (Dan) of Kenna; grandson Jesse Counts; brothers Edward Lee Counts of Sissonville and Toby Counts (Judy) of Sissonville; sister Louise Counts (Don) of Kenna. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by infant sister Katherine Elizabeth Counts. At the request of the family Roger will be cremated with no further services at this time.
