JEAN B. VERNER, 91 of Weirton, WV passed away Friday March 1, 2019 at Emerald Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center, Barnesville, OH. She was born March 10, 1927 in Follansbee, WV. The daughter of the late Clarence A. and Florence Marsh Barnett. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Paul W. Verner (1998); sisters, Doris Ficca, Virginia Burgess, Mary O. Gracey; brothers, Paul, Clarence, Harold, Hugh, Robert & George Richard Barnett. Jean was a member of the First Christian Church (50+ yrs.) where she taught Sunday school for 35 years; served as a deacon, church treasurer, and belonged to Christian Women's fellowship. Her employment included the former Citizens Bank of Follansbee, WV and State Farm Insurance, Milton Zinaich, agent. Surviving are her daughters, Paula Butler (Clifford) of Barnesville, OH, Marsha Hancock (David) of Canonsburg, PA; grandchildren, Kimberly Young (Russ), Steven Butler (Emily), Rachel Vega (Kyle), Erik Hancock; five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday March 4, 2019, 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at STEEL & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV where the funeral/committal services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kevin L. Bowers presiding. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Colliers, WV. Memorial contributions are directed to the First Christian Church, 3252 Main Street, Weirton, WV 26062 OR Mary H.
