Charles Keith Byrd, age 57, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 16, 1961 in Wilkes County to Charles Gleathen and Marie Smithey Byrd. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and previously employed with Millers Bee Farm. Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Kimberly Gilreath Byrd. Surviving are his son, Brandon Keith Byrd and wife April of Millers Creek; daughter, Megan Marie Byrd of North Wilkesboro; his mother, Marie Smithey of Hays; brother, Scott Byrd and wife Charlotte of Traphill; and grandchildren, Kyra Rose Byrd, Cobe Pennington and Derek Pennington, Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Pruitt officiating and Rev. Robert Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Victory Baptist Church from 3:00 until 4:00 on Sunday, prior to the service and other times at his mother’s home, 152 Southwood Drive, Hays, NC 28635.
