Funeral Services for Mrs. Mona Shelton Colvin, 89, of Monroe, LA, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Whites Ferry Road Church, West Monroe with Lindle Stewart, David Bromley, and Mike Colvin officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Whites Ferry Road Church, West Monroe. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhern Funeral Home, Sterlington Road. Mrs. Colvin was born June 16, 1929 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 28, 2019. She was a member of New Light Baptist Church. Mrs. Colvin retired from Sears after 34 years. She enjoyed gardening, but most of all spending time with family. She took pride in taking care of her loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Shelton and Nellie Peters Shelton; husband, Buck Colvin; daughter, NeAlta Smith; son, Butch Colvin; sister and brother in law, Joan Whitley and Herman Whitley; and brother, Horace Shelton. Survivors include: son, Mike Colvin and wife Debby; daughter, Sharon Johnston; son-in-law, Don Smith; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wallace Shelton and wife Carolyn, Harold Shelton; three sisters, Peggy Robinson, Joyce Ritchie, Connie Corley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Pallbearers will be Josh Helm, Jeremy Helm, Lee Lane, Lee Lane, II., Noah Arnold, and Eric Mann. Honorary Pallbearer will be Clint Johnston. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Heart of Hospice, the family of Whites Ferry Road Church, the family of New Light Baptist Church and Mike and Beth Moore.
