Norman "Pops" Crawford Obituary

Norman George Crawford, Jr. was born October 28, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Norman Sr. and Matilda Crawford. He gained his wings on Friday, February 22, 2019, age 87 years. Norman, better known as “Pops”, was a lifetime resident of Saginaw. He attended Webber Junior High and Saginaw High School. Pops and his brother Mickey Crawford were boxers, trained by the best, their father Patsy Crawford. Both brothers went on to box in the golden gloves, however his brother went on to become a professional boxer. Pops was his brother’s number one fan. Pops was a man of many gifts and talents. He was a master chef, who got his start by hitchhiking across the country, from Atlantic City to Miami. He cooked for the likes of Sammy Davis, Jr., Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He could take basic ingredients and create a five star meal because it was his love and passion. Pops gave his life to the Lord after meeting Brother Joe. He later went on to open several businesses with his children and partner, Collen “Cis” Crawford. He employed several family members and residents of Saginaw. Pops dream spot, Wiseguys Bar & Grill is where he met the love of his life, Sharrie Williams. Pops was a man of ambition, drive and determination. He was a family man who loved his children. He was charming, kind, caring, intelligent and a man of wisdom. An avid hunter, fisherman and trapper, he loved life. He was a member of Spirit Filled Lighthouse Church, where he was recently baptized with his grandson Matthew and his son Charles. Pops loved the Lord! His favorite scripture was I Corinthians 10:13. He believed that God would never put more on us than we can bear. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Sr. and Matilda Crawford; sons, Peter A., Kim S., Michael Crawford; brother, Harwood “Mickey” Crawford. He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife, Sharrie Williams Crawford; daughters, Colleen “Cis”, Denise, Lori, Patsi Crawford; sons, Bryan, Danny Crawford, Charles Allen, Clinton Berry Bonds; daughter-in-love, Shannon Crawford; godchildren, Amber Rimmer, Mikey Lefler, Danny Woodruff, Edward Teenier; spiritual daughter, Terry West; grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Joseph, Carli, Jack, Miles, Benjamin, James, William, Carrie, Amy, Danny, Samuel, Michelle, Katie, Sally, Isaiah, Aidan, Jewel, Charles, Sarah, Matthew, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Jake, Jenna, Taylor, Nick; four cousins; sister-in-law, Marion Marie (Kevin “Sugarfoot”) Bradley; very special brother-in-love/son, Herbert Williams; many other relatives and friends, including special friends Lisa and Sammy Coleman.
