Richard F. Mountfort (Dick) passed away peacefully at Menno Haven, Chambers Pointe Health Care Center, Chambersburg, PA on Thursday, March 20, 2025 with his wife, Donna, by his side. They were married for almost 57 years.

Born October 1, 1943, Dick lived a long and fruitful life and was well-known for his generosity with his time. He spent his career with the EPA from 1966 to 1996. When he and Donna moved to Biglerville, that kind, giving spirit translated into many contributions to our community. He was a member of the Biglerville Borough Council and Sewer Authority. He volunteered for the Jaycees for at least 20 years and delivered Meals on Wheels. As a member and past president of the Land Conservancy of Adams County, Dick continued to give of his time, talents, and resources to promote conservation and sustain our farmland in the county.

As an enthusiastic walker, Dick was frequently seen around the streets of Biglerville and at the library. Dick was an intelligent person and was an avid reader of anything related to the Civil War. He was an ardent fan of the Boston Red Sox and Dick had true appreciation for a good beer!

Professional services were entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville. Interment will be private. To say that Dick was passionate about his many interests, his friends, and his community would be an understatement. In that spirit, in lieu of specifying any specific charity, Dick would have loved to know that people would be generous with any group for which they might also be passionate.
