Wesley Vaughn (Critser) Commons, age 54 of Wichita, passed away at his home on April 8, 2016. Wesley was born on July 10, 1961 to the union of Henry Wesley Critser and Lucretia “Ruth” Tedlock in Columbus, KS. The family moved to Pittsburg in 1976, where he graduated high school. Shortly after high school, he moved to Wichita where he settled for the rest of his life. While in Wichita, his passion revolved around his music. He loved playing and writing music, and even managed a music store. He also loved writing books and other short articles, as well as gardening. Wesley is survived by his partner, friend, and companion of 25 years, John Orr. Additional Survivors include his mother, Ruth Ketterman (husband, John) of Pittsburg, KS; his father, Henry W. Critser of Phoenix, AZ; one son; Aaron Ketterman of Wichita; one brother, Patrick Commons (wife, Dusty) of Pittsburg; two sisters, Dana Todd (husband, Troy) of Wichita, and Angela Commons of Pittsburg; three grandchildren, Kash, Abby, and Aaron Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Wesley was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Tedlock; his grandmother, Lavan Beatrice Johnson; and hi step-grandfather, Robert Johnson. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. Following the funeral service, Mr. Commons will be taken for cremation. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, rural Columbus, KS. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
