Ronnie Ray Harper, age 51, passed on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville. Born Oct. 17, 1964, in Salisbury and was the son of the Late Robert Lee and Barbara Jean Lyerly Harper He was a 1983 graduate of West Rowan High School Mt Ulla. His work experience included Pope's Restaurant, Abex Corporation and HBD industries. Ronnie was an avid golfer and a “die hard” Dallas Cowboy fan. He was a fine example of a man and father. He was a member of Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church Woodleaf. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otha and Hester Sherrill and Hugh and Sadie Lyerly; his wife's grandmother, Mrs. Ruth Myers; uncles, Jerry and Bobby Sherrill; aunts, Doris Cuthbertson and Bettye Thompson; and brother in-law, William “Billy” Taylor. He leaves precious memories to his wife of 22 years, Arneda Taylor-Harper; sons, Tristan Ray Taylor and wife Brittany of Morganton and Josiah Samuel Harper of the home; sister, Rene Crump and husband Norman of Bessemer City; brothers, Robert Harper and wife Andrea of Salisbury and twin Donald Dale Harper of Cleveland; grandsons, Britain Taylor of Leesburg, Fla. and Princeton Taylor of Morganton; brother-in-law, Charles Taylor of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Denice Taylor Howze and husband Kenneth of Marietta, Ga., Kemeral Taylor of the UAE and Stephanie Taylor McCray and husband James; his special adopted goddaughter, Olivia Hall of Huntersville; uncles, Carl Harper and wife Yvonne of China Grove and David Sherrill of Garysburg; aunts, Helen Ellis and husband Pete of Woodleaf, Carrie Sherrill and Levonia Sherrill of Cleveland and Mary France Price of Salisbury; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends. He also leaves special memories of hours playing golf to his partners and friends, Thomas Gaither, Aaron Miller Jerome Cowan. The family will be at the home at 210 Baker Mill Road, Cleveland, NC.
