Dean Reinicke

Dean Reinicke, age 87, of Madison, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Madison Regional Health System.  Funeral service will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 16th at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Constanze Hagmaier officiating.  Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Friday at Weiland Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7 PM led by Rev. Clint Thorson.  Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with military honors provided by Madison VFW & Madison American Legion.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to:  Lake County Veterans Honor Park, 510 S. Washington Ave., Madison, SD  57042. Dean LeRoy Reinicke was born November 18, 1931 in Farmington Township, Lake County, South Dakota the son of Fred C. & Mabel (Wendelboe) Reinicke.  He graduated from Beadle High School in 1949. He served in the Korean War from 1952-54 and SD National Guard from 1954-73, serving as company commander at Madison for Company B, 153rd Engineer Battalion before retiring as a Captain.  He worked for Backus Construction and operated the dredge at Lake Herman before establishing Reinicke Construction in 1976.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW & Past Commander.  He married Jane Klein in 1955 and had three children.  In 1973, he married Rose Baartman.  In his spare time, Dean enjoyed working on his 1930 Model A and 1942 Harley Davidson that he recently rebuilt. Dean is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rose of Madison; daughter, Sheila Reinicke of Lawton, OK; two sons, Gary (Deb) Reinicke & Curt (Erin) Reinicke both of Madison; two step-sons, Norm Baartman of Wentworth, SD and Mike (Diny) Baartman of Chester, SD; two step-daughters, Brenda (Rory) Zillgitt of Wentworth, SD, Linda (Larry) Baartman of Howard, SD; twelve grandchildren & sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, Clayton (Norma) Reinicke of Arlington, SD; two sisters, Elaine (Chuck) McCluskey of Arlington, SD & Phyllis Allgaier of Madison; special niece, Diane Townsley of Sioux Falls and several nieces & nephews. Dean was preceded in death by his parents; twin-sister, Deloris Reed, and a grandson, Travis VanDenHemel.

I was so sorry to hear of Dean's passing but he is sure to bring smiles to faces in Heaven because his sense of humor was unmatched here on earth. Dean and Rose made me laugh every time I spent time with them. I am thinking of you Rose and you are in my prayers.
