Marvin E. Garrison

Marvin E. Garrison, age 70, of Alpine, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016. He was born on July 4, 1946 in Belcher, Arkansas, the son of Leo Oscar Garrison and Tilda Mae Criner Garrison. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal. While in Pine Bluff, he volunteered with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was active in the Glenwood Senior Citizens Center and with the Alpine Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Ann Garrison of Alpine; two sons, Gregory E. Garrison of Little Rock and Gary Garrison of Pine Bluff; three daughters, Paulette Sanchez of Hot Springs, Suzette Brown of North Powder, Oregon and Bobbie Jo Bates of Baker City, Oregon; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Kenneth Wayne Garrison of Pine Bluff; and his sister, Allison Hayes of Mesquite, Texas. Services will be held at 9:00 AM, Monday, November 14, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Bob Huggins officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock. Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
