Rev. Cecil Harvey Hays

Rev. Cecil Harvey Hays, age 67, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. He was born on September 12, 1948 in Hot Springs, the son of Cecil and Alma Hays. He is preceded in death by one son, Jay Hays; his parents; one brother, Robbie Hays; and one sister, Cecile Talley. Cecil graduated Hot Springs High School and attended Ouachita Baptist University. He ministered to several churches over his 30 plus years of service to the Lord. After retirement, Cecil was an active member of KAIROS Prison Ministries where he loved witnessing of the love of Jesus. Cecil enjoyed building model cars and planes in which he received many awards. He loved Razorback basketball and football and spoiling his two dogs, Skeeter and Pearl. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Hays of Hot Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Angie Hays of Nevada; four step-children, Keith and Laura Robbins of Glen Rose, Candy and Casey Jackson of Donaldson, Lacey and Aaron Stepp of Lamar and Scott Robbins of Hot Springs; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one on the way. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Pastor Ian Kumpe of New Beginnings Baptist Church officiating and the eulogy given by Charles Timm Interment will be in the Morning Star Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday evening. Pallbearers will be Tim Rash, Charles Timm, Mike Jackson, Tommy Holt, Brent Lackey and Kenneth Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Bradley, Aaron Stepp and Casey Jackson. Memorials may be made to Arvest Bank under the name of Cheryl Hays. I am so sorry for your loss I worked with Cecil at Lake Catherine footwear many years ago He was my Boss for awhile. He was a very nice and kind person. God has taken another Angel home....
