Judith S. McCoombs

Judith S. (Couch) McCoombs, age 74, of Namquid Drive, Warwick, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at West Shore Health Center in Warwick. She was the wife of the late Althan "Red" McCoombs, Jr. (Prov. F.D.), and the companion of the late Peter Alling, Sr. Born in Quincy, MA, a daughter of the late Harold F. and Ruth F. (ODette) Couch, she lived in Warwick for most of her life. Mrs. McCoombs was a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center, where she enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends. She was a member of the Providence Retired Firefighters Association. She is survived by a son, Gary McCoombs of Warwick; a daughter, Melanie B. Panas of Rumford; two brothers, Richard D. Couch of Dallas, TX and David M. Couch of Coventry, two sisters, Nancy A. Fish of Aiken, SC and Melanie J. Paolozzi of Narragansett; and five grandchildren, Kayla McCoombs, Benjamin McCoombs, George Panas, IV, Emily Panas, and Morgan Panas. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 8, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
