Juanita Hilda Morgan " Neat "

If I can help somebody , that is traveling wrong, then my living shall not be in vain" Juanita (Neat) Hilda Morgan,88, native and resident of Donaldsonville ,Louisiana. Juanita was born on February 2, 1931 to the union of the late Raymond Morgan and Hilda Alayasia Jones Morgan in Donaldsonville, Louisiana (McCall-Souvenir area). On Wednesday , February 6, 2019, :Neat" was called home, swiftly to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Juanita was a very active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. E. J.Ellis. She served under 5 pastors, in various leadership positions including: Church Treasure, Church Clerk, and Honorary Pastor's Aide Member, under her current pastor, Rev, Darryl L. Smith, Jr. Neat was a 1946 graduate of Lowery Training School. She was enrolled, at the age of 15, at the Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge. She graduated from Southern in 1952 and received a B.S.degree in Business Education and later received a Master's Degree in 1973. Then in 1974 she added 30 graduate hours.. Neat began her teaching career at McDonough #32 Elementary School in Algiers, La. She was then employed at Southern University under the late D. L. L. Boykin and the late Dr. W. W. Clem in the College of Education. She then began teaching business subjects at Lowery High School in 1966 until 1969. During the spring of 1970 she was transferred to East Ascension High School, Gonzales La, working in the Business Department until 1980. Juanita was appointed to the position of Assistant Principal of Instruction at Donaldsonville High School in August 1980 and served until her retirement in 1995. Juanita will be remembered in many fond ways. She was a generous and kindhearted servant, who loved God, her family, her church, her community, and her "good friends" as she would say. Neat would be seen all around Donaldsonville and knew almost everyone that she came in contact with. Neat was a member of the following organizations: Southern University Alumni Federation-Tri Parish Chapter (life member), Ascension Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Pride of Donaldsonville Order of Eastern Star Chapter #80. We loved Juanita, but God loved her best. Loving memories will be cherished by her children: Carlos D, Robinson of Houston, TX, Robyn Penn Delaney (Lauthaught, Sr,), and Lisa "Bonnie" Penn, both of Donaldsonville; her grandchildren, Lauthaught Delaney, Jr. (Christalyn), Alayasia Delaney White (Titus), and Sherman E.Robinson; her great grandchildren, Kiyah and Kyle Delaney, Talaya and Andre' White, and Peyton and Ava Robinson; godchildren, Murray Sanders, Dwayne Wise, Mark Peters, and Carol Ann Lewis; a host of relatives and friends and former co-workers and students. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Hilda Morgan; grandparents, John and Sally Landix Jones; and a host of other uncles, aunts, and relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 808 St. Patrick Street, Donaldsonville, LA. 70346 on Sunday, February 10, 2019 From 4-6 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 9-10:30 am, followed by an Omega Omega Ceremony (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) at 10:30 am. Religious services will begin at 11 am, officiated by Rev. Darryl L. Smith, Jr. Interment In Protestant Cemetery In Donaldsonville, La. Brazier-Watson Funeral Home In Charge Of Arrangements.
