Hilda I. Weaver, 103, of Allentown, formerly of Easton, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 in Phoebe Home. Born November 7, 1912, in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Mary Poslack Bowman. Her husband of 42 years, Douglas E. Weaver, Sr., a World War II veteran, died September 5, 1973. Years ago, Hilda was employed by the former Schaible's Bakery, the former Chipman Knitting Mills and the former Easton Express. She enjoyed being with her family, knitting, cooking and activities at the Easton South Side Senior Center. Hilda was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the former South Side Senior Center. Surviving is a daughter, Hilda Tomaino, of Easton and a son, Douglas E. Weaver, Jr. and his wife Darlene, of Hershey, PA; seven grandchildren, Gina Marie Shupp, Irene Vogel, Gino Tomaino Jr., Craig Tomaino, Beth Straw, Amy Brandt and Zena Keller; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Douglas, she was predeceased by a daughter, Leona Pipher; a brother, Louis Bowman; five sisters, Grace Bowman, Jean Behringer, Bernice Young, Thelma Bowman and an infant sister Eleanor. Services will be held at 11am Friday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Friday 10-11am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine.
