FERNANDO ANTONIO ZUNIGA GUTIERREZ

Surrounded by his family Fernando Antonio Zuniga Gutierrez, 88, passed into eternal life on March 20, 2025.

Born on May 30, 1936, in Jalapa, San Manuel, Chaparron Guatemala, Fernando was the son to Gregorio and Soledad Zuniga Gutierrez. Fernando came from a large family of twelve siblings which included five sisters and seven brothers.

On December 19, 1965, Fernando married Faustina Zuniga who he would spend the next 60 years with until his death. Being an ambitious and hardworking individual, Fernando and Faustina would leave Guatemala and head to Los Angeles, California in 1972. Pursuing a career in the food industry, Fernando held many crucial roles. After a 30-year work history, Fernando settled into retirement in Bakersfield, California to share his remaining years with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Faustina, three daughters, Blanca, Marilyn, Ruth and one son, Carlos. His five granddaughters, Faustina, Katherine, Belinda, Olympia, Chloe, two grandsons, Carlos, Ethan, four great granddaughters, Mia, Audrina, Melany, Kendall, seven great grandsons Angel, Derek, Vince, Zane, Jaxson, James and Noah all of whom brought joy and happiness to his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and home cooked meals to share with them as well as any animal he encountered. His heart was always full of love for animals.

Fernando’s kind heart and quick wit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Until we meet again, may you rest in peace Fernando, thank you for the love and laughter

you brought into our lives.
