Lynda Louise Carson-Fizer of Dover, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 77, following a tragic event.

Lynda was born on January 15, 1948, in Illinois to the late Forest William Shoupe and Alice Louise Harmon. A creative spirit with a sharp mind and a deep love for animals, Lynda lived a life full of passion, curiosity, and dedication to her family and her many talents.

Throughout her life, Lynda wore a wide variety of hats — she was a gifted artist and jewelry designer whose creativity touched those around her, a skilled travel agent who helped others explore the world, and a government publication editor who took pride in her meticulous work.

Later in life, Lynda found her true calling and joy in raising and breeding Yorkshire Terriers. She founded Bear Line Irish Yorkshire Terriers, where for 19 years she lovingly bred and cared for these cherished companions. Her dedication to the breed and the families she connected with through her dogs left a lasting legacy in the community. Lynda officially retired from breeding just a few years ago.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Shoupe.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Westcott of Riverview, FL; her granddaughters, Sarah and Lindsey Westcott; and her sister, Patricia “Patty” Westfall of Frederica, DE. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and their families.

A memorial service celebrating Lynda’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Friends and family are invited to visit one hour prior to the service.

Her kindness, creativity, and love for her family and animals will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
