WHITTY, Sylvia (nee Porter): It is with sad and broken hearts that the family of Sylvia Whitty announce the passing of our loving mother after a very noble and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 12, 2015, surrounded by her four children and family which was her favourite way of doing everything. Predeceased by her parents: Clarence and Emily Porter. Leaving to mourn her husband: Gordon; daughter: Joy (Tony); sons: Andre (Jennifer), Deion (Vivian) and Adam; grandchildren, which were her pride and joy: Evan (Brandy), Taner, Nathan, Reid, Jade and Kate; sister: Albertha (Alex); brothers: Calvin (Pat) and Harold; special cousin: Doreen Bursey; special niece: Laurie Hogan, as well as many other family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Sutton and the staff at Palliative Care Unit, Dr. L. A. Miller Centre for their comfort and support during her time there. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Monday, December 14th from 10:00 am. - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00 am.
