Donald Lee Eakle

Donald Lee Eakle 76, of Steubenville, OH died peacefully at his residence in Steubenville, OH, on Saturday, January 28, 2017. He was born on August 1, 1940 in Lost Creek, WV a son of the late Buhl and Statie (Heckert) Eakle. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Harriet (Lewis) Eakle and two sons Mitchell and James Eakle; six brothers Jennings, Charles, Robert, Gary, David, and Richard Eakle; three sisters, Pauline Hutchison, Betty Grim, and Susan Bell. Donald worked for D.W. Dickey & Son Inc. as a welder. He also drove trucks for US Postal Service for many years. He was Jehovah witness by faith. Donald is survived by one daughter Valinda (Scott) Wilson, Sr. of Steubenville, OH; nine grandchildren, Christina (Doug) Powell, Michael Bates, Anita Rossi, Billie Jo Eakle, Brandy (Zac) Hatmacher, James Eakle and companion Caitlinn Reynolds, Mitchell Eakle II, Scott Wilson Jr., and Donald DJ Wilson whom he lived with and helped raise; and eight great- grandchildren with one on the way and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV, where services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. The family would like to give a special thank you to Donalds loving niece Donna Bell for all the care and love he received from her in his final days. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mullenbach Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Condolences may be sent to www.mullenbachfh.com
