Merle Foster Osborne Obituary

Merle Foster Osborne passed away at the age of 98 on January 16, 2019 in Vancouver, WA. He was born to Sidney Osborn and Hazel Daniels in Novinger, MO on June 4, 1920, the oldest of four children. Merle was a US Army veteran and served proudly in WWII and the Korean War. He worked many years for Bonneville Power as a Field Supervisor. Merle loved carpentry, hunting, and traveling. He built many porches for neighbors in his community. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather Merle was a long-time member of the Pythian Brothers and devoted a great deal of time to the organization he loved. He led a full and active life to the end and is truly missed. Merle is survived by his son, Larry (Diane) Osborne of Carson City, NV; daughters, Lorrie Dye and Lonnie Scott of Portland, OR; step-daughters, Donna Leonard of Vancouver and Loretta (Bill) Singer of Walla Walla, WA; 12 grandchildren; 20+ great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by Margaret, his wife of 46 years; his parents; brothers, Cy and Dean; sister, Margie; and step-son, Eugene Beard. A Memorial will be held Sun., Jan. 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 1101 NE 112th Ave., Vancouver, WA, 98684. Refreshments will follow in the hospitality room. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice SW or a charity of your choice.
