Jennett Forsberg Obituary

Jennett Swenson Forsberg, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025.

Jennett was born to Harry and Jenness “June” Bennion Swenson in Afton, Star Valley, Wyoming.  She was the 2nd of 4 children. Her siblings are Jenness Swenson (William) Shepherd, Enid Swenson (Gordon) Barnes, and Earl (Gaylie) Swenson.

Jennett grew up on her family’s sheep ranch in Star Valley.  She learned a strong work ethic at an early age as there were many chores to keep up a large ranch.  Jennett often helped in the kitchen as several hired “hands” needed to be fed.  Jennett especially liked helping outdoors with the animals.  It was a harsh environment in the winter but beautiful in the summer.

Jennett loved horses and grew to be an excellent horse woman.  She performed stunts on her horse and brought in the U.S. flag at rodeos.  Jennett also barreled raced and won several awards. Her love of horses continued throughout her life.

Jennett also had a love for hair styling.  She earned a scholarship to the Utah Beauty Shop and obtained her Utah beautician’s license.  Jennett was generous and often styled hair for free.

Jennett attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah studying English.  She had many suiters but was especially taken by a handsome young man, Robert Roy “Bob” Forsberg (March 4, 1929 – July 31, 2024) whom she met at a Delta Phi/Sigma Kappa dance.  Bob “pinned” Jennett and they were later married on November 23, 1953 in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sharing 70 years of love.

Shortly after Bob graduated from Utah State University (USU) and their marriage, Jennett’s sweetheart left to serve in the Air Force in Korea.  Jennett chose to live with her new in-laws, Roy and Pearl Forsberg, in Logan while Bob was in Korea.  Jennett continued her college education and graduated from USU.

Jennett and Bob lived in Sacramento, Ca for 27 years.  Jennett taught school for several years including adult night school.  Over the years Jennett taught art, English, public speaking, writing, music, typing, and crafts (math and MGM program as well).  She was quite multi-talented.

Later in life Jennett and Bob lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and then Keiser, Oregon before returning to California to live the rest of their lives in the Rocklin area, California.

Jennett loved to chat and get to know new people.  She was soft spoken and kind but had a fire inside her which came out when needed.  She baked delicious homemade wheat rolls and divinity.  Jennett always had a craft in her hands such as crocheting, knitting, or painting. The family has several of Jennett’s oil paintings which they treasure.  She also loved to dance.

Family was very important to Jennett.  She and Bob have 2 children David Robert Forsberg (Jennifer) and Terresa Lynn Forsberg Simonson.  They have 8 grandchildren, Niki Maile Forsberg (Danny) Garrison, Nephi David (Phyli) Forsberg, Sean Michael (Jenn) Forsberg, Robert Taylor (Ember) Forsberg, Julia Ann Forsberg (Drew) Walker, Alison Lynn Forsberg, Stephen Brooks Forsberg, and Austin James Simonson.

Jennett leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren, Dylan Seth Garrison, Collin Zachary Garrison, Ethan James Walker, Ridley Reddick Roy Forsberg, Emma Christine Walker, Ruthie Dane Forsberg, Luna Mae Forsberg, Bryce Nephi Forsberg, and Ivy Joan Forsberg.

Jennett especially loved visiting with her grandchildren and put them atop horses as soon as possible.  She was a patient and kind riding teacher to them.  Grandma’s house was a fun place for the grandchildren as Jennett was always up to play a board game, do a craft, or go out for an activity.

Jennett attended the Rocklin 4th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and volunteered in many church callings including teaching youth Sunday School, Young Women’s President and served a Senior missionary with Bob.

Her Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2831 Theona Way, Rocklin, California on April 3, 2025 beginning at 10:30 am.  Jennett’s interment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, CA at 1:15.  She will be laid to rest with her husband, Bob.  Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
