Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, March 26th at the Eads Cemetery.  A come and go reception will be held immediately following the graveside service at the Prairie Pines Assisted Living Community in Eads.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Esther Elizabeth McCoin (Kempf) was born in Alpena, South Dakota on Dec 12, 1925. She graduated high school in May 1943 and entered the Dakota Weslyn Nursing Program. During WWII, Esther served in the Cadet Nurse Corps until Spring 1946. She married Don McCoin in August 1947. Over the next 8 years, they had 3 children, Linda, Tracy, and Joel. In 1972, Don and Esther moved to Eads, Colorado.  Esther worked at Weisbrod Hospital from 1972 to 1980 and then as the Kiowa County Nurse until 1990. Esther enjoyed seeing families and children at the clinic and providing care for families in their homes when they were not able to make into town for healthcare. Esther was an active member of the United Methodist church and a longtime volunteer at the Kiowa County Public Library District, the Salvation Army, and Senior Citizen Center. Esther is survived by her husband, Don and son, Joel (Barbara), 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings, 2 children and 1 grandchild.
