Charles Cammon Obituary

Charles Edward Cammon, a native of Chicago, IL, was born on December 1, 1962, in Lanett, Alabama, to Helen Cammon and Arthur Frank Dozier.

Charles worked in construction and plumbing, trades that reflected his hands-on skill, dedication and hardworking spirit. Though life presented its shares of struggles, as it does for us all, Charles faced adversity with courage and perseverance. He always found a way to rise.
He was educated through the Chicago Public School System, earning his high school diploma (GED), pursued studies in Liberal Arts at Malcolm X College and later became licensed as a Master Plumber.
He was a devoted husband and father, deeply committed to his lifelong partner, Cynthia Coles, their son, Daylon Coles, and step-son Titian Coles. Charles found joy in family and had a special fondness for children, whose laughter and energy he cherished most.
Charles, a loving and kind soul, departed this life a little sooner than expected leaving a legacy of love, resilience, and quiet strength.

Charles was preceded in death by his son, Charles Edward Cammon Jr., and his father, Arthur Frank Dozier. He is survived by his mother, Helen Cammon, his partner Cynthia Coles, and son Daylon Coles. He also leaves behind his siblings: Larry (Rev. Deborah) Smith of Riverdale, Georgia; Sterling (Valencia) Smith of Hampton, Georgia; Timothy Tucker and Melisa Tucker of Valley, Alabama; Denise Smith and Katrina Smith of Lanett, Alabama; Carl Tucker of West Point, Georgia; and Valeria Dozier, Warrick Dozier, and Derrick Dozier, all of Atlanta, Georgia.

He will also be fondly remembered by his uncles: John (Mattie) Dozier and Joseph (Patricia) Dozier of Atlanta, Georgia, and Willie Lee (Diane) Lowe of Lanett, Alabama, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
